Qdos Contractor started as a tax consultancy in 1988 and has specialised in helping contractors, agencies, and clients, to navigate the IR35 legislation since the legislation was first introduced over 20 years ago.
Since 2000 we have successfully defended over 1,600 contractors subject to IR35 enquiries, saving them an estimated £35million in tax. We support contractors from the initial letter all the way to tribunal, such as the high profile case of Jensal Software and the 2019 GSK enquiries of which we supported 130 contractors to defend their position.
We strongly believe in taking a compassionate approach to enquiry defence, keeping the contractor informed and a part of the process, as well as listening to their concerns along the way.
In this time we have also insured over 50,000 contractors for a range of HMRC enquiries and assessed over 150,000 contracts and working practices for IR35 status - providing contractors with the means to fulfil their tax obligations with the due diligence they require. 50,000 of these were provided free of charge as a benefit of our insurance policies.
Continuing to support contractors and engagers through IR35 reforms first in the public sector and now the private sector, we developed Status Review - the first solution available to the market - released even before HMRC’s own CEST tool in 2017.
As well as our extensive work with the IR35 legislation, we support hiring organisations of sole traders to ensure they are aware of the risks of false self-employment and implementing processes to assess employment status of these workers.
We strive for the highest standards of compliance, supporting both contractors and the organisations who engage them to understand the specifics of the legislation, their obligations and responsibilities, and how to execute them.
